Medical Mondays

Hi!  Yes....I still have a blog, despite my chronic neglect.  Tonight I'm reading about calcium and phosphate management in chronic dialysis patients; tomorrow night I get to relearn how to properly examine a knee.  The enjoyment is never ending.

In the interest of not writing perpetually miserable posts, here's a brief list of things that are making me happy right now:

1)  Stash tea (caffeinated in the morning; decaffeinated in the evening)
2)  Cats who like to cuddle on my study desk:

3)  Listening to great Canadian music on the way to and from work.
4)  Spending a bit of time every day reading for fun.  Currently on my nightstand:  For Today I Am A Boy.
5)  An impromptu trip to San Francisco in less than two weeks!  Where should I go?  What should I do?  And what should I read when I'm not out sightseeing?

What's making you happy today?

Speculoos biscuits, sweet messages from my new boyfriend, medical blogs that might help me break away from my lonely dull office job!

I love your cats!

And San Francisco! That's in MY neck of the woods! Hmm... such great food. Yelp.com is a great way to find good places to eat there. My favorite things in SF:

1) Omnivore Books - super cute cookbook shop
2) Rosamunde Sausage Grill - wieners and beer!
3) Bi-rite creamery - ice creammmmmm
4) Dolores Park

Have fun!

Thanks for linking up with MM! I have no experience in SF, but it is on my bucket list. I can't wait to read about what you see/do.

A fantastic manager who is heading off a couple of whiners and keeping them off my turf. Gotta love a good manager.

Every time I think of San Francisco, I hum the Full House theme song...ha! Hope you enjoy your trip - thanks for linking up to Medical Mondays!

Playing Dominion online (this is a major time suck. I do not advise it if you're trying to study for exams).

Indian pickles (mango and lime).

My clinic was supposed to go until 6 PM on Thursday and now instead it's only booked until 5.

Finally found a pair of good ski bibs. On sale, no less.

Awwww, cute kitties! I have a day off from school today because there's ice everywhere and the power's out at school, so getting to hang out with the cat is making me happy.

I am wishing you super weather for San Francisco. My dad had some business trips out there in years past and it ALWAYS rained and was miserable. I think it's his terrible travel luck.

Have fun in SF! I loved walking the Golden Gate bridge and up above it on the Marin headlands coastal trails.

In SF, I highly recommend visiting the redwoods just outside the city. Absolutely stunning, though it may be a bit cold this time of the year. And Alcatraz. Very neat! And fresh chowder on the Wharf, mmmmm.

I love SF, very jealous your getting to visit, I've been 3 times, but the most recent trip was 1999, sigh!

Best breakfast I had, Dottie's True Blue Cafe, how tasty it still is who knows.

If you like Armistead Maupin, and I love his books, then the Tales of The city walking tours would be how I would spend a perfect day in SF. I only wish I had done it (note to self, travelling solo has its advantages, like being able to do something just because you want to!)

Awe your cats are so cute! I like that you have a happiness list since so many people just complain about the negative-it's nice to focus on the positive for once. Hello from medical mondays :) oh and what's making me happy is waiting for my husbands signing bonus to get here so we can treat ourselves to nice valentines day presents for the first time in 8 years.
