It's here! The first blog hop I've ever hosted!
Who qualifies to participate in this exciting Valentine's Week blog hop? Essentially any blogger who identifies as a single person. Whether you're actively dating but not in a long-term relationship, or have recently ended a serious relationship, or have been boringly single for a long time (like me), you are hereby invited to link up your blog below. Just click on "Click here to enter" and then follow the instructions for adding your link. You can link to a specific post related to Valentine's Day or the single life or whatever else is on your mind, or you can simply link to your blog as a whole and allow readers to peruse your archives. But please make me happy and link up!
Once you've linked up to your own blog, please have a look at the other blogs that are linked here and take a moment to leave a comment. The purpose of this blog hop is really to start assembling a community of single bloggers (and readers), so letting other bloggers know that you're out there and reading is an important part of the process.
The blog hop will be open until midnight on Friday, February 15, so please visit often to see who else has linked up. And please share this information on your blog so that others will join in!
As for me and my great plans to write a meaningful post to start off the blog hop...they were thwarted by a call shift involving multiple line insertions and surgical abdomens and chest x-rays with far more white in them than is healthy. My previously excellent karma for senior call was completely ruined, keeping me at the hospital far past my bedtime, instead of leaving at 5 PM as scheduled. So this is just a quick place keeper to get things started, and meaning will have to come later when my eyes aren't threatening to close on me. Sorry to be such a terrible example to you all! Please accept a cute picture of my cat by way of an apology.
Awwww.
If you're reading here for the first time, here are some of my favourite posts about relationships and singlehood to give you a sense of what my single life is like. Hope you enjoy!
The post that started it all - my thoughts on the myths of coupledom.
Whining about the unpleasantness of dating.
The possibility of romance! Spoiler alert: It didn't work out.
Some positive thoughts on being single (complete with a picture of my other cat, for fairness).
Being a childless auntie.
Thoughts on solo travel.
Sucking it up and doing things on my own.
Early blog post about being the only single person left in the group.
The wonderful Tanya Davis (to lift your spirits if you're feeling blue).
Browsing through some of my old posts is a reminder that I used to write somewhat thoughtful posts, as opposed to just showing pictures of my latest dinner out. I really do promise to come back soon and contribute something of meaning to the blog hop, so please visit again!
Edited to add: The post is now half written. It should be up tomorrow night. Feel free to wait with bated breath....

Hi there! I'm a new reader, found your blog from Dresden's connected blogger list, and I'm so glad I found you! Add me to the "boringly single for a long time" club. ;) I don't have a meaningful post about single-dom to add, so I just linked up my blog. I hope that's okay!
Anne - Absolutely that's okay! My first linkup...yay! Now I can go to sleep instead of obsessively refreshing my page to see if anyone is going to join my blog hop...not that I've been doing that...
Rushing to work, wrote a post over the weekend esp for your blog hop, which I have just uploaded.
Will come back after work and visit everyone else, looking forward to reading them all.
Great idea SD, great idea!
Love this!
Sharron - Thanks! Judging from the few people who have linked up so far, I don't think it's going to achieve the "critical mass" I had hoped, but it's still wonderful to see single bloggers coming together.
Larissa - Thanks! And thanks for participating.
Hmmm. I don't know that I can participate. I wish I could, as my reader numbers dropped dramatically when I was traveling. But I'm in a I'm-not-sure-what-the-heck-I'm-in-right-now right now, sooooooo...
Geekhiker - I'd be happy to have you on the blog hop even if you're in an "I'm-not-sure-what-the-heck-I'm-in-right-now" state. I suspect you have some thoughts on the single life even if you don't consider yourself a part of it at the moment.
HAHA, this is a brilliant blog - hop, especially as I've only *just* recently written a post on single-dom! I don't really care for V-day (regardless of being single/dating), but this is fun! :) Will read all these posts linked up too! :)
Sunrise - Thanks! And thanks for linking up.
Great idea - thank you for including me in this :) its a great way to meet new bloggers!
Have a great V Day <3
Well, in that case.
As for my thoughts... uh, does "permanently confused" count?
